What Is Curb Appeal and Why Is It Important?

Curb appeal is hugely important! Curb appeal is the attractiveness of your house as it is seen from the street. Your level of curb appeal, or lack of curb appeal, is going to have a major impact on the price you will be able to sell your house for and how fast it sells. Let’s talk about why it’s important as well as some easy things you can do.

Normal 1551482016 What Is Curb Appeal And Why Is It Important Sell My San Antonio House1. First Impression

The outside of your home is the first impression of the house that a potential buyer will get when they pull up! If the outside of the house looks half-way done and messy, the buyer will likely assume that this is the way the inside of the house was done as well. You don’t want to work super hard on making the inside of your house clean and beautiful just for that image to be ruined by the outside appearance.

2. Sets The Tone

If a buyer gets a bad first impression of the house from an unappealing front yard or exterior of the home, this is going to set the tone for the way they see the rest of the home. They will look for other things wrong with the house, even if they’re minor; they’ll point out small cracks, crooked wall outlets, not enough windows. On the flip side, if they fall in love with the outside of the house, they will often look for justification on the inside of the house to love it more! Not enough windows? Good for privacy! Look at these paint colors! Look at these countertops!

3. Sell At Your Top Price Point

You want to sell this house for as much as you can, after all, you worked hard on it! If a buyer or two falls in love with the house from the time they pull up, they are more likely to be willing to offer more and even get into a bidding war. Remember, your buyers are picturing what it will be like for them to live in this house and what it will be like to pull up to their new home at the end of every day. If you can present your buyers with a property that gives them a great feeling as they pull up, then they are much more likely to want to make that their new home.

4. Easy Things To Do

Curb appeal does not have to be a high priced item on the rehab list. Make sure the grass is nicely cut and edged, have your bushes trimmed so your yard looks clean well kept, and make sure there is no excess trash or branches laying around. Check and see if any of the exterior paint needs a quick touch up. Also, power washing the drive way and sidewalks can make a huge difference! This makes everything look nice and clean for not a lot of money.

Make sure you finish the job off right so that all of your hard work doesn’t go to waste. Spend the money to make your house beautiful from the outside! It doesn’t take much, just call your local experienced landscapers.

I hope this helps!
