5 Benefits of Manufactured Homes with Garages

In the quest for a great home, you should know you don’t have to sacrifice outbuildings when you buy a manufactured home. If you are thinking about the many benefits of having a garage, you’ll probably want to consider researching mobile homes with garages for sale. They’re not as common as mobile homes without them, but they are available and there are some great options both with and without attached garages. Some even have double garages.

Today’s manufactured homes can have all the bells and whistles a site-built home has, including garages. Some mobile homes have a carport, or an attached garage, and others have garage additions that have been added on. If you are looking at mobile homes without a garage, you might want to consider adding one, if it’s an option for the location.

Benefits of having a garage

Protection from the Elements

Depending on where you live and how severe the weather can get, a garage is helpful for protecting your vehicle from the elements. This can extend the life of your car. And if you have a classic car, a motorcycle, or seasonal vehicle such as a convertible that you only bring out for special occasions, this is likely more than a wish list item for you — it’s a necessity.

Convenience

Parking your vehicle inside a garage eliminates the need to scrape ice off your vehicle if you live in an area (like Michigan) that gets a lot of snow and ice. It also keeps rain and salt off your vehicle. It’s a lot less unpleasant to get into your vehicle when it’s stored in a garage versus left outside during subzero temperatures, too.

Additional Storage

Depending on the size of your garage, it could be used for even more than vehicle storage. It offers a great place to store tools and outdoor items as well as serve as a ‘man cave’ or workshop.

Some garages even have mezzanines or attics that can be used for additional off-season storage. Storage is often a factor that has people seeking out manufactured homes with garages for sale.

Resale Value

If you are looking for mobile homes with garage options, you will see that they can be more expensive to buy than without. And it also stands to reason that it’s good for the resale value of your mobile home to have out buildings in good condition, such as garages and storage sheds.

Safety

Vehicles that are stored in a lockable garage are less susceptible to theft and vandalism. And in some cases, you can even have an entrance directly in and out of your garage to your house without having to step foot outdoors, providing even more peace-of mind. It’s not as common to have an attached garage as a freestanding one within a mobile home community, but there is still a degree of peace of mind in being able to lock your vehicle in a garage.

Additionally, some car insurance companies give you a break on auto insurance premiums when you keep your vehicle in a garage, too.
