How I Manage My Time to Be Effective

Recently, I have been getting a lot of questions about my daily schedule. This is something that is near and dear to my heart because it allows me to run my day extremely efficiently.

There's a lot of myths out there about time management and the secret is that it doesn't matter what you do because the only thing that truly matters is the results.

When it comes to my daily schedule, I try to have a complete structure throughout my day from 5 AM to 5 PM. After 5 PM, it's always appropriate to unplug because we are not robots.

Throughout the day I am consistently in and out of something called “time blocks”. This is a batch of time that I have allocated us to strategically work on my most important goals. The reason this has to get scheduled is that if it's not scheduled, the world will then get in the way. Once you put it on your calendar, you start taking it seriously.

Besides the time blocks, I always make sure I have proper time allocated to play “defense” playing defense would include responding to calls and emails as well as calling people back. I try not to pick up the phone immediately because that usually interrupts a time block.

Last but not least, there is always time in my schedule for fitness and education because if you don't have your health right physically and mentally, is challenging to produce the business results.

I would like to end with this, there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to having a daily schedule. It is all about preference and making sure you can do your routine consistently. Consistency wins the race.
