Lake Minnetonka is one of Minnesota's most beloved lakes. It is located in the western suburbs and is bordered by 12 cities and townships including, Wayzata, Minnetonka, Mound, Orono, and others. Lake Minnetonka is known for having some of the most luxurious and beautiful homes in Minnesota. Orono is on the northern end of Lake Minnetonka and is located about 15 miles from Minneapolis. The city is proud to be the city with one f the largest amounts of lakeshore on the Lake Minnetonka. The city has 4 public beaches and boat landings. There are a number of public parks and play areas for children. And Orono has managed  to stay mostly residential allowing the community to be very peaceful and friendly. Orono is also home to a world-class 9 hole golf course.

Secondly there is the city of Mound. Bordering the north western end of Lake Minnetonka, the city of Mound is found in, on, and all around the Lake. Mound has over 17 miles of lakeshore property with 11 of those miles being directly on Lake Minnetonka. Again the city is full of parks and launches, there is estimated to be over 1,000 docks in Mound, and for a city its size that is rather impressive. The city also holds a welcoming atmosphere, a true lake lovers paradise. 

Lastly I would like to highlight the city of Minnetonka itself. As the name suggests the city of Minnetonka is indeed home to the famous Lake Minnetonka. The city is also home to a number of other lakes, ponds, and creeks, including the Minnihaha Falls. Minnetonka has a lot to offer when it comes to offering things geographically, from luxurious lakehomes to smaller inland homes, and from small shops to larger businesses, Minnetonka supplies it all. The city is also in a great location, located just 8 miles west of the downtown Minneapolis area. This means that you are just a short drive from all the Minneapolis has to offer.
