Defining Roles And Responsibilities in Partnership

Normal 1582660036 Gwrsbfd

We do have certain strengths that we played in our business partnership, of course, we bounce ideas off of each other even within our own lanes so, but we do have a special specialty area. Carl is more than the numbers guy. Mike's family had a construction business growing up so he has that background, where I deal with a lot of investors.

You have to have a setup similar to this, personal that will manage investor relations and marketing and overall strategic objectives, that's one piece of the business. The second person will be numbers, financial, underwriting and due diligence. And the acquisitions person, but still a lot of these roles are kind of intertwined. You definitely have lanes you've got to stay in, but at the same time, they're all interweaving, some interplay within each one of them. And it's important to know what everybody else in the partnership is doing, know how the decisions that you make and your particular role, how it affects the other positions as well.

So now we're taking it to the next level here, we're going to go offsite and do some really big management building, setting up our strategy and putting all that into place, because this is a business. We're just looking to scale, leverage and do it responsibly and make sure that we do it the right way. So our next step is to really focus on our management group, from there, every quarter we will keep realigning ourselves with our goals and where we want to take this company.

A lot of times we see people that are getting into this and think of it more as a hobby or some sort of game that they're playing. And it truly needs to be treated as a business, when you're bringing on investor funds and you have that big responsibility of making sure that investment goes well, it needs to be treated as a business. I don't think that there's anything easy about what we do, there's a lot of different pieces and moving parts and one thing can be can go wrong, it can cause a lot of different issues and so to tie, play the game if you want to call it a game, running it as a business, I think is the right way to do it.
