Persistence is The Key to Success

One thing that can really help you as a real estate investor and really help you as a business-person or as anybody trying to achieve any goal is persistence.

You hear it all the time. These famous people, or these famous athletes, like Michael Jordan or like Roger Fetter or like these famous actors. It's really about persistence. It's about going out, putting together a goal, identifying what you need to achieve, your milestones, and not giving up. That's really the difference between an also-ran and a person that's really successful.

It's about doing all the things and passing by any obstacle, overcoming any obstacle, overcoming any setback.

For example, I was running some ads the other day, some Facebook ads. I got Facebook spanked, for lack of a better word. Not only did they shut my ad down, but they also shut down my whole account. They said I had too many violations. So, what I did is I went and I opened another account and I moved all my ads over there.

Now I know you're probably wondering, why am I doing this kind of work? It's because I like to set up the ads first just to make sure that I've got a lot of the right things in place. And then, when I am comfortable that all the ads are working properly, I move them on to the person that's running these ads for me.

The point is that I set up another account. I put up all my ads again. I copied them over. I spent literally two days creating these ads. And by the way, I liked doing it because I'm an IT guy and so that's fun for me.

So anyway, everything was running and I got shut down again. So that was another ad account shut down. So, I went and I opened up a third account and I started doing everything again. And during this time I had appealed the previous shutdown to Facebook. I was back and forth like three times. The guy actually said, “look, that's our final decision”. I think he was actually getting upset with me.

I woke up the next day and there it was … my account had been activated and it was up and running and everything was approved. It’s the strangest thing. My point is that it was the persistence that allowed me to keep moving forward to address the problems and to make sure that I get things done or I got what was required done.

The difference between somebody who's not very successful or somebody who's super successful is persistence.

Now, when I say not very successful, it could actually be a failure, and failure is a dirty word, you know, it's a bad word.

Failure can sometimes really just mean you have not met your goals or what you've been trying to achieve.

So, one of the biggest qualities you can have is persistence.

I see a lot of people trying to do something and they give up after a few minutes or a few days. I mean, I've been working at some of my dreams for four months, for years.

Make sure that when you are attacking something, or when you're looking at trying to achieve something, that you're very persistent in your execution towards your goals.
