

Best places to buy oceanfront property in Oregon and how much it cost
Location is everything, and oceanfront or oceanview real estate is no exception. The 400 mile or so Oregon Coast stretches from Northern CA to Southern WA. It is remote. Sometimes difficult to reach and majestic. The quantity of available oceanfront property is typically very limited and values typically increase the closer to major metropolitan areas.
So where is the 'Best' place to purchase oceanfront real estate in Oregon? That depends on your needs, goals and usages.
Seemingly the further south one travels, the more value one receives. Areas like Brookings and Gold Beach offer options for ocean front property usually in the $1M+ range.
Those that are into golfing might consider property near Bandon Dunes, when available, oceanfront properties can run in the $2M+ range.
Florence is an area of high investor interest due to it's proximity to Eugene. Yachats has several estates worth a look.
As you travel north, Waldport and the community of Bayshore offer exceptional Oceanfront value (although homes here can currently not be utilized for STR) oceanfront homes with long walkable beaches are available in the low to mid $700's.
The heart of the coast is Newport/Lincoln City. An oceanfront home in Salishan Resort (probably nicest HOA community on the OR Coast) can be acquired the single to mid millions. Smaller footprints in the $750k range. STR eligible homes in LC will be in the $1.25-2M range.
Moving north Rockaway Beach OR has several oceanfront listings per year and permits STR's. There is are two active listings with target prices of $1.15-1.65M for oceanfront vacation rental usage.
Beyond Rockaway Beach are the most exclusive areas of the Oregon Coast, Manzanita, Arch Cape and Cannon Beach. Oceanfront homes here can range fro $1.5M-$2.5M and up.
Seaside and Pacific City also have attractive beaches and oceanfront homes. Usually the $1.4M+ range.
