A Homebuyer’s Guide to Finding the Right Neighborhoods in Shoreline

Sometimes it can happen that you find the perfect house in a Shoreline neighborhood that just doesn't fit your lifestyle. The other thing that can occur is you find the right house neighborhood but simply can't find a house you like in it.  What do you do if you find the right house buy you don't like the neighborhood?

The Right House and the Wrong Neighborhood

There are plenty of homes available in and around Shoreline, priced from $150,000 to just under $3  million in The.  A great tool to help you find that right house is "Google Maps" in your search engine type in Google Maps and you'll be brought to the Google Maps application.  You'll need to type in the house address if you have it or the zip code 98133 or 98177. Be sure to enter Shoreline Washington after the house address.

If a neighborhood's walk-ability is important to you go to  this will give you an excellent breakdown of the nearby amenities of your Shoreline neighborhood by giving each neighborhood a walking score based on how close the location is to public transportation, schools, shopping, restaurants, professional services, and parks.

Once you have done your homework you will need to make notes on paper so that you can see that the exact situation as it is. In many cases, simply by writing down the facts you'll be able to make a decision. There are both good and bad points to settling for a house or settling for a neighborhood and you are going to have to decide what the most important factors are to you.

If you have children and are looking at the neighborhood with a perfect house but with a high crime rate, you should look at not only the effect it will have on your children now, but also the effects in the future and how this may affect the overall property value? Are the neighborhood crime rates going up or down? Is there a program to reduce crime that is seeing steady results?

These are the type of things you should be looking at when you are caught in such a dilemma. Of course, this only applies if you need to get a house right away and can't wait to find the perfect house in the perfect Shoreline neighborhood.  Your real estate agent will also have a solid viewpoint based on what their other clients have faced and how they were able to deal with it.
