Investors are Driving the Housing Recovery.

Note: This post was originally featured on the

A recent article from DS News touts real estate investors as leading the charge behind the housing recovery.  This claim is substantiated by recent study conducted by John Burns Real Estate Consulting. According to Senior Analyst Erik Franks "Investors are buying homes at a more rapid pace than ever before, and this time their investments actually make sense."

Across the 150+ markets analyzed investor's share of all transactions rose to 29.6% for the first quarter of 2012. That's up 6% from it's all-time low of 23.6% in the fourth quarter of 2009.  Second quarter 2012 results are showing early signs that investor's share may be up another 2%. Franks goes on to discuss the contextual effects of this uptick in investor purchasing.
