President Obama Says Rebuild Vacant Homes

Note: This post was featured on the Invest San Antonio Blog

Investment Properties San Antonio

Regardless of politics, I found one message in Tuesday night's State of the Union Address that resonated with me: "Let's put people back to work rebuilding vacant homes in run-down neighborhoods." I think President Obama hit the nail on the head (pun intended) with this statement.  Many people fail to see that what we do (as investors) affects more than just our pocket books. Renovating homes affects the community as well as the greater economy. As investors, we are job creators, we neighborhood revitalizers, we increase in property values, we account for total sales increases, we add safety to our neighborhoods...what we do has a rippling effect. The next time someone mentions real estate investors in a negative light, kindly remind them that what we do has a positive effect on our local community and economy.
