Growing Trends in Private Money Lending

The financial technology sector, or FinTech, is growing rapidly and is churning out startups such as Square, TransferWise, and so many others. In the area of private money, there a few technology driven trends that are being tried, tested, and of course, copied. A few growing trends in private money lending include:

-Crowdfunding: commonly associated with sites like Kickstarter, the crowdfunding concept has gained huge steam with many copycats following suit in residential and commercial lending. However, the legality of crowdfunding on residential property is questionable under Dodd Frank. Can these crowdfunding sites survive?

  1. I think the crowd-funding originals that started the industry are doing it right and many of the others jumping on the bandwagon will fizzle out eventually.
