Made a Great Move to LA... Multiple Offers! LOW INVENTORY!!

Two years ago, I was in Cleveland, Ohio. I had approximately 5 or 6 short sale listings actively on the market. Snow on the ground. Open house events week after week. Umpteen showings per week with investors, all of whom were interested in buying from the saturated HUD inventory. Posting offer after offer, AT ASKING price, just to explain days later to investors that their 'at asking' offer was rejected by HUD. I even almost DIED listing an REO property (if you would like to hear about that one, let me know. I'll post that story)!

I couldn't take it anymore. I needed a change. Two of my listings closed. I packed my bags, gave my for sale and open house signs to a new agent in my Keller Williams Greater Cleveland office, and I got on the plane! I was licensed relatively quickly here, and situated in a great Keller Williams office here in Hollywood.

I immediately started to sit open houses for agents in my office, that have listings. It didn't take long for me to realize that in Los Angeles, you do not need to take reading material with you, to sit at an open house. You will not have time for reading! There were 20+ parties of visitors coming to every open house. The market here is extremely active, in comparison to the market I left behind in Cleveland.

Fast forward several months to the current. All across the nation, market activity is up. At our team meeting in Hollywood a week or two ago, someone had mentioned that while multiple offer situations were up approximately 30% across the nation, the same is up over 70% here in Los Angeles! this is GREAT!

The market is jumping! Buyers are writing serious offers. Sellers are happy. Agents are ecstatic! I know I am.

Now, I need to find more sellers. There is a shortage of inventory here in Los Angeles. I've studied up on the differences between the short sale process in Ohio and here in California. I'm going to start lead generating HEAVY with homeowners who are in default. In the next few weeks, I should have a few short sale listings. I'd like to hear from active investors here at Bigger Pockets that may be interested in short sale properties here in L.A. and the surrounding communities.

Let me find a few deals for you, that we can have back on the market by March, ready for the spring buying season!

All the best,

Kieran
