How To Craft The Perfect Investment Portfolio For 2018
What does the perfect investment portfolio look like for 2018 and beyond?
It’s the time of year when individuals should be reviewing their goals, finances, and investment portfolios. Many may need to be restructuring in order to avoid new tax penalties, potential losses in hyper-volatile asset classes, and to ensure strong growth and alignment with their needs going forward. So, what does a great portfolio look like now?
The Landscape Ahead
If there is one phrase that sums up markets now it would be “optimistic uncertainty.”
All forecasts appear to be for ongoing, modest growth. There are many reasons to be upbeat too. There are many factors which have the potential to add profit and growth in the next couple of years.
Though, if we are totally honest and transparent, there are also plenty of reasons for uncertainty. No one believes the stock market or bitcoin will go up forever. It is just a matter of when and how hard they fall. Then there a variety of global and national uncertainties, though some may be blown out of proportion by the media.
Even in real estate and banking there are some data sets that should be raising eyebrows. Foreclosures have been rising in some areas. Rents have fallen in others, like San Francisco. Mortgage lenders have mostly failed to loosen up underwriting anywhere near where it was 13 years ago. Some will say that that was probably the real reason and main factor in the 2008 crisis, while others say this is making the market and economy stronger than ever. Either way, there are, and will be opportunities. It is just about recognizing them.
The Future Proofed Portfolio
What we all really want is a future proofed portfolio, that offers maximum upside potential, with the best downside protection.
That is probably best found in a focused, but diverse portfolio. One which is aggressive, yet, with solid collateral, and positive cash flowing assets.
Perhaps you can go out to the markets and piece together something like this, or try to do it all yourself if you have time to be a professional full time investor. Though this is exactly why we created the NNG Capital Fund. It brings together all of these factors and principles, for optimal protection and returns, and it is completely turnkey.
