2010 and the year of MY WHY

So 2010 is hear and I find myself behind on my goal for the month.  Thats ok with me because that just means I have to work twice as hard next month.  So for a few things I have made great progress on and then to the main focus of this blog.

I have succeed in saving 10% from all pay checks from both me and my girlfriend.  Yea i know that doesn't add up to much and we aren't even into a whole year.  Well you know what it is a great start from where I was last year so it is a major accomplishment.  With my 401 k taking a hit last year i decided to stop investing as much into that account and more into my IRA.

Ok, most importantly i have decided to make 2010 the year i take action.  We are not talking small action here we are talking MASSIVE action in both real estate, and other business ventures.  Now i have been in "observer mode" on this site for the last 6 months.  It is time to take action.  I guess while reading through some of my e-mails something that Nick J. (motiv8td) said that really hit close to home and it is my desire and wanting to better myself and provide for my girlfriend.  I don't want all the money in the world.  Just enough to do thinks and not worry about whats in the bank account.

This is in an e-mail from october 30th.  We had been shooting e-mails back and forth for about a month at this point and  I had told him i had bad anxiety and prefered making phone calls to deal with buyers and sellers rather than face to face. and here is his reply  "I truly think your problem that you're running into is your lack of self confidence. I know you've mentioned to me several times before and I can assure you that your lack of self esteem/self confidence is showing through when speaking to sellers. Think about that for a little while and let it settle. Unless you change you, you're never going to realize what success is. "

The true eye opener was the next e-mail and his reply and if you all know nick you know he is very blunt and to the point and will say it how it is.  i told him i agreed with him about wanting and needing to change myself and those i surround myself with but i also had to read a few books well here is his reply "Man up **** edited will put links to full e-mail up at a later date for full convo as there are very informative and do pertain to a deal

you already know what it's like to be you. What do you have to lose? You're afraid of success b/c you don't know what it's like, you know what it's like being you and that comforts you. No books in the world are going to help until you make that choice to sound off like you got a pair"

It didn't hit me until this last few days what he meant.  So Nick thanks for the push and the motivational pep talk.  I wish it had sunk in earlier.  But better late than never.

  1. I think the more action you take, the more confident you get .... I agree with Nick's blunt (but true) message!
