Real Estate Negotiating BIBLE Tip #1, Crime Stats to get a discount

Use this negotiating tool to get a nice discount when you’re talking to the seller. Sometimes it’ll be tough to get homeowners to agree to your low offer. This is where your skills as a master negotiator will need to come into play. If the subject house is in a bad area, you can use neighborhood crime to negotiate a lower price. Show the owner the crime in that area and explain that you may fall prey to vandalism because the house will be vacant while you’re renovating it. You’ll also have a longer market time for resale if the crime is high. If you visit spotcrime.com or just google “crime stats” you’ll get a good idea of what crime is in any area. You’re looking for shootings, robbery, theft, burglary etc. etc. Try to paint a picture of the challenges you’ll face if you buy their house. This should give you a nice discount on the buy. Good luck….
