March Madness For Real Estate!

March Madness starts with Selection Sunday where Virginia, Villanova, Xavier, Michigan State and Duke are at the top of the 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Rankings. It's crazy! Likewise, Pittsburgh is predicted to jump to #1 in the hot real estate markets to look at during the spring real estate rush. March madness is everywhere and the competition is heating up... So Act Fast!

March is when the real estate season really kicks into high gear. This past winter was particularly rough, especially in the North, and so far we have been teased with a couple of warmer days as we head into spring. People are excited about getting out and enjoying life. So this is a great time to list your home or investment property and get it the exposure it deserves. But make sure it is show worthy. If you have a Realtor, meet with him/her and ask for advice on how to make your property standout from the rest of the competition. If you don't have a Realtor, get one, because they can offer valuable tips to sell your home or business property quicker than on your own. And you want to get it sold before we get too far into summer. The idea is to beat the March Madness Mayhem as it hits a feverish pitch.

For buyers, the spring housing market is like finding an oasis in the middle of the desert. More people list their homes or investments, injecting fresh air into a winter market that has become otherwise stagnant. While it's true that the investment side of real estate is an all year thing, it too goes through cycles where springtime brings out so many more opportunities. You may have been casually looking for your next home or business venture online, but now the land of opportunity has been handed to you. So seize the day, get outside and take advantage of it by touring those properties.

But before you go out, it's good to be prepared, so get a mortgage pre-approval. You will want to know how much home or investment property you can afford before you find one that you love, but can't afford. Being prepared you will be able to act quickly and make your offer. Remember there are always other great minds thinking alike. If you have a Realtor, meet with them now. If you aren't already on an automated search, get on one or revamp the one you are currently monitoring. You'll want listings coming to you immediately so you can pick the best of the best and check them out. Just like with sellers, you as a buyer will find an industry professional valuable as they set up showings, tour the properties with or for you, point out items of interest or concern, help in offer negotiations and hopefully get you ahead of the competition looking for that great place to buy.
