Latin Artist Yelba to Perform at Keller Williams Concert

Latin artist Yelba will perform at the free Keller Williams Concert Series at Kings Harbor in Kingwood on Friday, October 15 from 7-10 p.m. The Nicaraguan-born vocalist and guitar player will be accompanied by Yelba's Variety Band, which was nominated "Best Latin Band Traditional" by the Houston Press Music Awards 2010.  The band has a varied repertoire, including Top 40, Rock, R & B, and Jazz in addition to Latin music.

Yelba, described as "having the voice of an angel," can sing a beautiful Spanish ballad, a romantic jazz set or a fun disco tune with equal energy and charisma. She has performed at the Houston International Festival, Houston's Freedom Over Texas July 4th Celebration, Super Bowl XXXVII events and a pre-Latin Grammy party at the House of Blues.

Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Kingwood will be demonstrating Latin dances during the band's breaks at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The featured charities at the concert will be The Mission and the Kingwood Women's Club. Don't eat until you get to the concert because starting at 6:30 p.m. that night, the charities will be selling $8 food to-go tickets for the Kings Harbor restaurants. The delicious food items are only available during the concert.  A portion of the to-go sales will benefit The Mission, serving needy families in Kingwood and Montgomery County. Help stock The Mission's pantry by bringing non-perishable food items, such as canned soup, and full-size personal care products to the concert.

Concert-goers are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets for sitting on the lawn. Glass containers are not permitted at the Harbor Plaza concert site. Kings Harbor is located at 1660 West Lake Houston Pkwy., Kingwood. For more information, visit www.clickKWne.com or www.kings-harbor.com.
