Using Mail Chimp can help boost profits in your business
Have you ever been frustrated at keeping business cards in a shoebox or desk drawer and not being able to find the right person for the job? I have and I’m here to that there is a better way and easier than you think. It’s called a customer relationship manager (CRM), a software that keeps track of contacts.
I suggest using Mailchimp, I have listed a link on my resource center for you to check out. Most investors in the note space use it and they love it. Mailchimp is very easy to use from making lists and adding contacts to creating campaigns and sending to investors. In this article, I’m going to give you four reasons to have a CRM, and how it will benefit your business.
- Keep all your contacts in one place. This is my favorite feature. Before using Mailchimp, I used to keep all my contacts either in a shoebox, randomly kept in an excel document, in which I cannot find anymore, or lost in my car. Nowadays, I keep all my contacts in Mailchimp. As soon as I network with a new person, I’ll place their first and last name and email into a predetermined list. A list is a place where you place different contacts. Some examples of my lists are VIP Buyers list, Asset managers, Investor follow up. I add the contacts to these certain lists depending on where they fall into place.
- Mailchimp lets you keep up to 2000 contacts free of charge. I suggest any new investor to use this service because its free up to your allotment and very easy to use. I know as a newer investor you may not have a lot of money for all these services, and that's totally respectable. I was in that situation when I first started.
- You can automate your follow up. Being an investor can be a very busy lifestyle, however if you automate your work, it will work in your favor. With Mailchimp, you can automate when your pre written messages go out to your contacts. For example, I know I have to catch a flight to Austin, TX tomorrow morning to meet with some investors and won't have time to write and send a newsletter. So, I am writing the newsletter tonight and letting it send at 8AM tomorrow morning. Without touching a button tomorrow, a message will be sent to my investors about new deal flow coming there way. This makes traveling a lot more stress free!
- Importing your existing contacts couldn’t be easier. In the beginning, not knowing who would be a potential equity partner, I imported all my contacts from Facebook friends, email contacts, and linkedin. It was very easy, and they are all updated and categorized in designated lists. Literally it couldn't be easier.
All in all, I could be happier with Mailchimp as my customer relationship management software. I suggest that any new note investor use it because it's free to start up and incredibly easy to use.
