Replacement furnace: what do you use & why?

Question

We end up replacing several furnaces every year, part due to failure and part because it’s at the end of its useful life. (This may vary due to your location but):

I happen to like Goodman and Amana hi-efficiency furnaces (95-97% - natural gas) and so does my HVAC guy Dave, those are our go to lines.

What furnace do you use and why?

Nice to hear: same chute, different wrapper - of course! But i still like the Amana / Goodman's

Thomas S. Hi, we would also install used furnaces, but our City code changed and now all properties have to be inspected.

All furnaces, water heaters, space heaters... have to be inspected, chimney liners installed, stickered and uploaded to the City's site so we simply moved on to installing new. Plus the liability factor went down or at least I sleep better thinking it has with a new appliance.

I am an authorized Goodman/Amana dealer...every furnace in the country is manufactured in 3 factories...all the "high-end" furnaces are basically the same product in a different case with enormous prices tags. When Daikan Group purchased Goodman, they acquired all the technology they needed to make a solid product...especially the heat exchangers.

I shop for the best deal. I consider them all to be roughly the same.

I also often get lucky finding used furnaces, less than 10 years old.

I really like the Trane Ameristar.  Put two in my own house last year.  I HATE Gibson, they break and they will happily send you parts under warranty.  It only took them 7 weeks to send a new compressor out for a heat pump that failed in August.  Had to swap out the condenser with a Trane will the parts were coming.  P.S. I have a Gibson 3 ton heat pump condenser unit with a new compressor in it sitting in my AC guy's shop if anyone want s to buy it...
