Tax write-off in investment property
Hello, I was wondering if you stay in your investment property and if you make some repairs can you write it off ?
In my case, one of my tenant is leaving and I was thinking to stay there for few months and get the house repair (nothing major) can I take tax write off for my expenses ?
Thanks
Sam

I don't think he's talking about turnover repairs. He's talking about living in his property for a few months and making improvements to it before marketing it again.
You can take deductions for cleaning materials, toilet paper, etc. Larger capital expenditures would be depreciated over time. I don't think you can write off your time or charge yourself rent or anything like that.
