Q: How Will Elon Musk's Twitter Deal Affect Real Estate?

Last week was abuzz with news of Elon Musk's $44 Bn acquisition of Twitter. We know many realtors use Twitter to syndicate their deals and find prospective clients. Is the acquisition by Musk good or bad for the real estate business? Will this have any impact on the reach and visibility of deals?

There are certainly some smart people in the REI space on there as @Jordan Moorhead points out.  I personally don't have time to check or follow it.

The layoffs certainly aren't great for our local economy.  I've got one client who still has a job and 2 that are unemployed after the recent layoffs.

Twitter isn't a real estate website, I think the impact will be minimal. Only a matter of personal agenda and preference.

I signed up once Musk took over but never used it. Can't see why I ever would. It has zero value in my life. Occasionally someone will send me a sports piece but I find their format annoying...

Most serious folks in Twitter are very deep in Macro Economics or stock Indexing however most private investors looking for syndication, they are usually in more private club or area or alumni forum and such. Twitter is almost meaningless for RE.The most surprise after Musk acquisition is he said for the folks to elect GOP today, that's so fun LOL

I have heard SEC Attorneys say that about 95% of all syndication are Reg D 506(b).  In those cases, advertising (including soliciting on twitter) would be illegal.  Your friends may be breaking the law.

With that in mind, the impact of the twitter deal should be negligible.
