STR Property Management License in Illinois
Anyone have any knowledge on the following?
(1) If I want to manage STR (AirBnB/VRBO) properties in Illinois do I need to be a licensed broker?
(2) Do I need a license to self manage my own property?
(3) How difficult is the exam/prep to obtain the needed license?

Most states do not require a license to manage short-term rentals. However, a license may be required to sign legal contracts between the manager and the owner, or you can use an attorney. You do not need a license to manage your own property, but you may have to register the property with the City or County. Again, contact your local planning and zoning board directly to understand the rules.
Real estate is one of the easiest professions to get into and the hardest to stay in. You take a class for a couple weeks, pass a test, and find a Broker to work under.
