Legacy Construction is more than a contracting company; we’re a community builder. Founded by Jacob Guereca in Wisconsin, we specialize in residential remodels, new builds, and small-scale land development. Our mission goes far beyond construction: every project is an opportunity to create opportunity.
A Journey of Resilience
Jacob grew up poor, raised by a single mother, an abusive stepfather, and an incarcerated father. With little guidance, he began making bad decisions and saw firsthand how easily life can go off track. Everything changed when he discovered the trades. From the first time he picked up a tool, he was hooked. What began as survival quickly became an obsession and a calling, and over time he felt compelled to share that spark with others.
As he worked in the trades, Jacob witnessed how expensive repairs could set struggling families back for years and how unguided youth were increasingly slipping through the cracks. These experiences deepened his commitment to create a company that not only builds structures but offers guidance, affordable help, and hope.
Training & Empowerment
Legacy Construction actively mentors youth, single fathers, and anyone eager to learn the trades, offering on-the-job training that can lead to lasting careers. We believe that many good people simply need guidance and the chance to learn something valuable so they can feel that same addictive fulfillment that comes from contributing to society.
Built from Personal Commitment & Hard-Earned Savings
Determined to change his future, Jacob taught himself how to save and invest. He scraped and saved every dollar peeling copper with a razor blade and working side jobs until he had saved $30,000 of hard-earned money. Teaching himself the basics of investing, he put those savings into the market and patiently held them for four to five years, growing the account to over $100,000. But when the market collapsed, he lost everything overnight.
That experience became a turning point. Jacob realized the best investment anyone can make is in themselves; their skills, their character, and their mission. He was close to giving up, but reminded himself of the goal: his mission was not complete. As he says, “Money isn’t what drives me, though it’s needed for the world to go round. My purpose is bigger than a balance sheet.”
Today, every job and every community project is still funded entirely out of his own pocket, driven by the same determination that built his first savings.
Vision for the Future
Jacob’s long-term dream is to build a system that provides many stable jobs for future employees and their families. creating a real, lasting impact on the next generation. As Legacy grows, that vision expands: reach more families, train more apprentices, and build stronger communities across Wisconsin and beyond.
If you share our belief that construction can change lives, we’d love to connect, whether as an investor, property owner, or community partner ready to build something lasting together.
