Volunteer with habitat for humanity they teach you how to fix up houses, its how I learned!

I am involved in many aspects of the community including chairing the Kenai Peninsula Realtor Association’s Annual Hospice and Habitat for Humanity fundraiser, member of the Kenai Chamber, supporting local sports teams, charities, organizations, and even being the ambassador for our state in the 1999 Mrs.

So I roam Habitat and take pictures instead :)Currently seeking: 1.

So if you're going to do this, make sure you gather all the information you can....volunteer at a RE office as a weekend assistant, volunteer at Habitat For Humanity as a jobsite gofer, read every book you can get your hands on, even take the courses for RE and GC licenses (even if just for the info).No one is trying to shoot down your dreams, but realize that we've all done this for decades and seen (and experienced) the heartaches.....

Properties like that are great, once you have your money back, who cares if it never appreciates, or even goes down in value, you can collect all that flow, and with a low initial investment you should be able to atleast get the $33K back, but if not you can always donate it to habitat for the tax benefit if you need to get rid of it. there are so many strategies,  and to say one or another is wrong or bad is ridiculous, every investor has different requirements, and if it works for them i say Great!!!

Besides the financial end of it, one way to teach these kids about the mechanics of fixing up or owning a house might be to have them work on a Habitat Home.
