It's really gone down hill, but that being said there are some decent neighborhoods scattered throughout.

Building materials scattered in the gardens in the front...$2 to replace a knob from a dimmer switch that came up missing (this, they didn't dispute)$20 to replace a door jam that had been damaged,  All 3 hinges were on wood that was cracked from a jam.  

A few scattered bookings since then help with the bills.

@Allen Porter I personally own properties scattered all across the city.  

But on the flip side, it must be exciting to own properties scattered across the United States instead of them all being concentrated in 1 or 2 spots.Which would you prefer?

Additionally, a package of 24 single family properties will more than likely be scattered all over the city and county and the time and effort it takes to manage that portfolio could be extensively more involved than an apartment complex where all 24-units are in one location. 

Yes I know that the outcomes for tenants is better in scatter site housing, but the risk to mom & pop landlords is becoming to great.   

Scatter several small investments and see what works.  

(Tom  was an investment banker in San Fran and would spend most of his days in a concrete building while my office was a turquoise ocean scattered with islands playing host to a single palm tree.
