It was one of those ancient in ground pools with a vinyl liner, cinder block walls and sandy bottom.  

The property itself is a very nice rehab so that’s why I thought I needed to include it all  So many Greeks popping up on this site...like a plague of us.

Now, I'm not saying we were racially profiled, but a Greek dual citizen married to a Russian nationalized citizen with plenty of Eastern European associates and friends...hell, if I was the Justice Department, I would want a closer look at us, too and good for them for doing their jobs.

If the house is so old that it has ancient pipes that have never been serviced, or massive trees all around the house that could have roots burrowing into them, etc, etc.

Listening to a cable installer scream like a banshee after running into an ancient cat carcass in the crawlspace.Watching my realtor run out of a house we were looking at, gagging from the overwhelming smell of dog pee.

Also, is the property ancient and going to require frequent repairs?

That said you have the ancient tools of the carrot and the stick (cash for keys VS eviction).

If it has ancient leaky windows, though, you might need to upgrade those - although if I was the tenant, I'd want to see that regardless.Alternatively, if you do want to move it and the crawlspace isn't suitable, there are furnace / AC units that can go in an attic.

There will always be good deals - the skill is in not only having the confidence to know and to trust that, but also to recognise the deal that is good for you and then to be able to go after it not have someone else's great deal go after you.I hope that helps, sorry to quote Epictetus at you I got a bit carried away but those Greeks knew a thing or two :)
