Redfin announced that in February, Milwaukee was the #1 market in the US up +20% but I would label that as a data glitch: last year Feb was quite low, which caused the spread to be bigger.

E (likely where your last tax pro put it) unless the average stay was <7 days and/or substantial services were provided (such as daily cleaning, tour guides, concierge, etc.).I agree with @Michael Plaks - technically they need to reverse the small portion of PY 27.5 year depreciation that essentially overstated the deduction, potentially causing you to recognize some taxable income in the current year.

Problem is, for a deal like this, you really can't let the lender know you are struggling with the capital cause that's a red flag for them.

I can pursue a legal action against the tenant or Baselane, but this will cost me additional $2-3K in legal fees besides dealing with a loss of at least $5K of rent and damages caused.

Bad tenants or big early expenses can cause a lot of stress.I have a property in Colorado, I initially bought it as a househack, now it's rented (managed by a close friend) and two here in Springfield, VA that I manage myself also bought as househacks.
