I am thankful to @Brandon Turner for reaching out to me early on when I had only been a member for a short period of time and how both you and Josh have embraced me as part of the BP family. 

It sounds logical at first, but there is absolutely no data anywhere to support this assertion.Councilman Chris Nevitt said, "I don't see embracing a new model of lodging that doesn't play by the same revenue rules as the old model of lodging," .

Based on where you at now, paying off your mortgage and continue to grow steadily will easily get you there in the next 10 years with minimum stress and headache (minus WWIII happening, JK)If you are someone who are aspire to maximize growth, have a f*k you money and want to get into politics and expand your influences, and also prepared to embrace the headache and stress that come with that lifestyle, then you wouldn't want to pay off the mortgage but put your money somewhere else that would give you maximum return.

People also seem to be embracing more minimalism where they don't want to accumulate stuff.

Just a phase that I'm openly embracing and rather enjoying actually.  

I just need to learn to embrace the idea that spending money on an investment property, and carrying debt that makes me money, is entirely different than financing a new sports car, or putting a vacation on a credit card.  

For the past 25 years I’ve strived to embrace the divide your portion principal.

The community where I have my homes has its problems, but it is also well run, embraces the short term rental model, has hired people to accommodate the check in process (gated community with 5300 homes).
