I use a masterlock box from lowes/hd that has a 4 digit dial.

A fireplace balloon from HD was like $55.  

The register remembers the card and HD will email your receipt to you.

I get hardware from Knob Depot online (I'm not affiliated) - I can't bring myself to pay HD or Lowes prices for that kind of stuff.

HD sells a plastic discharge pipe that's threaded on one end for $3.

Even the HD house brand did.Some of the cost cutting by these brands is disappointing, flimsy plastic "metal" parts and such.

Top coats/ the paint:  I'd be ok with using a few different products (not from HD or those other big-box guys).  

Just about any local lumber yard will be glad to sell you doors... just call up and ask to speak to the sales manager and he/she can direct you to an appropriate rep.That said, HD and Lowes do some crazy promotions at times and with like-kind brands, the product should be identical, so the quality should be too.  

If so, don't ever pay that unless we are talking about huge kitchens.As other posters have stated, cabinets are an easy DIY.When you get to countertops, check HD, they do the best top of the line counters for $25-30 per square foot installed.  

At the very least, I should be able to go rent a pressure washer at HD and do that myself.
