I think the key is in defining what you are looking for - whether that is solitude, nightlife, oceanfront, soundfront, condo vs house, shopping, proximity to larger urban areas, etc.As for insurance, there are some good resources if you Google NC coastal insurance.This is all high level and just my opinion, but I'm happy to add perspective on any areas if you like.
