I am unsure of what kinds of tactics the home builder will play moving forward, thus far they have already said they have changed their policy to increase the money in earnest to include an additional $2500 during a redline meeting to move forward.

Shiller did his PHD at MIT in 60s w fellow student Dr Jeremy Seigel, whose latest edition of Stocks for the Long Run does a deep dive into US inflation, basically we had none from 1809 till 1945, house prices flat, then post WW2, lots of inflation and house prices up, if you remove the inflation, the red line in last chart above, house prices nearly flat again.

In early 2016, I bought a Pville prop whose owner had suffered tenants to live there for *two years* after the ground-level furnace had been redlined by Codes due to flooding!

@Carlos Ptriawan starbucks idea is great but I think you need a local to translate - The trend to avoid anything that appears to be redlining also makes investing without boots on ground very difficult.Make trips there and walk neighborhoods.

9-10% in Cali with up to three years with a couple pts depending on middlemanPlaces like Michigan are redlined from banks and are 12-14% with 6-10points on one year with balloon; hopefully that will change...I was looking and may have got lucky today!

In short, I wouldn't worry about it unless it's something that you were super clear was a giant red line through the whole process.. especially not when it's 3 days.

It's only a 450 sq. foot condo, however, because it's only a 5 min. walk to the red line the rental rates are incredible.
