Lastly, check on availability of broadband/ cable/ fiber.

I bought a home that had  sewer lines that were made of wood fibers and hot tar, known as “Orangeburg”.

If it is what I'm thinking where the box of equipment shows up and you just need to plug it in to the power and the existing cable/fiber/ethernet then yes that's a reasonable ask.

Just stick with a fiber cement product over a vinyl product, or go with the cheaper priced product backed by a lifetime warranty.

We have a friend (who just sold their restored farmhouse on 30 acres) who had to dig out & install a retaining (fiber-cloth covered) trench for $4500 that has absolutely no function except it's NOW code for all septics systems.The sale triggered the town insisting on the upgrade.
