I had a case where I was weeks away from the sheriff actually evicting a seriously stubborn tenant, and an interested buyer for the home actually went to the home and worked with the current tenant to have them leave so they could move in.

In my many years of this (property management company for over 20 years) I have dealt with similar stuff a handful of times and I still get the pit in my stomach and sweats while my stubborn side says do not cave in when we know we are right.

Except the government bureaucracy and people's stubbornness, of course.We always report taxes for one specific year, and it changes from year to year.

@Ryan Cameron what saddens me is that I know it's psychological issues... but he's so damn stubborn there's nothing you can do to change him.

The treatment company will likely need access to their individual crawlspaces which could present a problem if you have a stubborn neighbor.

My lawyer said he will require all construction to be permitted and in compliance with Chicago building code, but I'm sure the seller (who is stubborn) will not agree to such warranty (or provide permit #).
