Don't mess with the fire marshal...I know an investor in NB that got a warrant out for her arrest for not completing the punch list that a fire marshal created for her- it was a huge headache.Especially in buildings with more units, the fire marshals are much more strict.

If the applicant was arrested, did that lead to any rent payment issues?

Even a taxicab driver who speaks 3 languages in Mauritius could have his money confiscated, any business he slowly built seized by the government, be arrested for political speech, or his family threatened for his not voting a certain way. 

There was a squatter sleeping there a month ago one night, but the police were called on-site and arrested him.

If people use propstream or datatree they also can find out more information about you.I can also see every parking ticket you got or every arrest. you are not risking anything because its very easy to find out. 

If I go into best buy and walk out with something without paying, I'm getting arrested for theft.

A group of us invested and basically lost our money when one of the partners was arrested for some bad business.

She eventually got arrested and sent to jail right after I kicked her out so suing her for add'l damages above the security deposit amount would be easy to get the judgement but difficult to get paid back.

I'm fairly certain if he was required by probation/parole to register as an SO and he didn't, there will be a warrant for his arrest.
