I mean that there is a virtual but clear cap on rent increase. now the 7.5 mortgage and current multifamily price and even renovation on top of those, I imagine the rent should be a lot higher than just an OK condo's mortgage payment, and I would choose to buy a condo than renting multifamily unit if I were a renter.and I feel that my home is just too big to rent it out (4bed/2.5bath) just to cover my PITI, and I am not sure the house hacking may make better lifestyle than the current single family home of mine.Thanks.

why does it have to cash flow.... think about it.. if your cash flow natural or 100 or 200 positive.. or 100 or 200 negative.. is that going to change your life or your lifestyle in any appreciable manner ????

They become accustom to the better lifestyle and keeping up appearances and any bump in the road causes disaster.The fact that he is pushing you to sign the lease is what gives me pause.

In our case, we moved from Tennessee to Colorado because of the lifestyle that Colorado offers (skiing, hiking, beauty, beer, etc).Once you select a state, then you can start looking for a city that will best support your house-hack.
