Hello Eveyrone,My parents have a home in Seaside, CA which we are trying to convert to a Airbnb STR unit, however I see under Seasides STR regulations that any newly formed STR's are prohibited post April 2018.I did find this, and I was wondering if anyone else attempted this and if this actually works?

The prohibition against engaging in other forms of employment ( including being self employed in any capacity) stems from the fact that an H1B visa is issued at the urging of your employer. your employer essentially files a petition asking the government to allow them to employ you.

Personally I would just consider either lease it cheap to nearby farmers, check with another solar developer if the reason is not prohibitive or sell at a loss.
