Last many years has been age of adoption, not innovation.

We have an STR in Swannanoa that wasn't damaged and have had several week+ long bookings since the storm (including Army Corps of Engineers, etc). 

As long as the custodian company is responsive I wouldn't worry too much.Do your due diligence and make sure the custodian company is legitimate.

What strategies or flood mitigation measures worked best for you to ensure long-term profitability?

The upstairs is approved for short-term and long-term rentals and has a kitchen, bathroom, and a Victorian room that could be a bedroom.Notes:-There are three vaults, one on each floor.
