I went to a few, and they were sales pitches, or worse, teh organizers wouldnt' let you network with anyone but them, etc.I then did a few meetups and more REI Clubs, just because I felt there had to be something better.

It's a poorly organized database and interface though and can be hard to find what you want so an OPRA request can help cover anything you might miss researching on your own.A lot of unsuspecting buyers don't know these types of information exist and are available for free to the public.

Also, even if you personally do not end up making it out to it given the distance, see if you can give the organizer a call/skype and let him know what you are trying to accomplish (see if he can put you in touch with someone local).
