if I title an inherited property in an LLC, as opposed to in my name, do I lose step-up basis?

To get the ball rolling one idea I have is to get my LLC together this year and start building business credit, hopefully I can then afford my DP.

I have a sole member LLC.

Can anyone respond with their thoughts on land trusts set up for each IP.  Pros and cons.  Who do you use to set up. How much does it cost. 

Not sure if that's just because I'm a sole proprietorship and not an LLC, I'm not sure.Do you know of some of the other advantages that the Essentials would have?

A lot of people get hung up in creating their business card or company name and LLC and end up never doing a deal.

Each property should be held in a separate LLC and if you are using passive investor capital that needs to be a note and deed of trust not a JV as that would be a security and would require an exemption.  

Unless you have a storefront with signage it's really almost a non-issue as most people won't ever see your business name anyway. how about: JakebuysRE LLC
