There is only one way....you have to buy the biggest piece of crap you can find and use sweat equity to make up the difference. 

It will be interesting to see what happens in South Lake Tahoe, as ALL vacation rentals not in the "tourist core" area are legislated to be put out of business in 2021. 

I would say that if you have experience in any one of the roles ( the more the better) that make up the process your likelihood of success would be much improved.

Journalists are STARVING for content, and make up a whole lot of "fluff" to get a story done.
