Jacob Phillips

Hello, everyone! I thought it was about time to update my biography! I am 28 years old and I've been a member of Bigger Pockets I believe since January of 2019, maybe late 2018. I live in the small town of Waverly, MO and invest a half hour away in my hometown of Marshall, although I am hoping to eventually spread my wings into Springfield and/or Kansas City, but am also slowly learning about out of state investing. I spent about a year and half listening to podcasts and reading and visiting the forums, and in February of 2020 I bought my first rental property; a single family house with a mother-in-law garage apartment. I got both rented out within about 6 months after light rehabs in each, and bought my second property--a duplex near the local college--in July of 2020. I plan to continue building my rental portfolio using conventional and non-conventional financing methods, and I'm also starting to turn my sights to the occasional flip. I hope to have my first one started by the end of this year (2020). My goal is financial independence through REI, and I'm interested in learning all I can about all things Real Estate, although my current focus is buy and hold. I hope to form connections with investors both in and out of my area and see where this journey takes me. I invite all of you, young and old, new and experience, far and wide to engage me in conversation! I don't pretend to know much but I'm certainly well on my way to learning!
