Step 2 - Throw a Bunch of "Stuff" at the Wall

So a lot has happened since my last post:

I...

  • bought and received a bunch of bandit signs
  • put out some bandit signs (4 to be exact), probably not enough, but I've still got over 90 of them
  • continued passing out (and canvasing with) business cards
  • got some door magnets that read "I Buy Houses 919-335-6785"
  • made a few offers
  • started calling the Driving for Dollars targets
  • joined the local REIA

My "I Buy Houses" Door magnet

I know there are other things that I was able to accomplish, but I can't remember them at the moment... Oh yeah, I GOT MY FIRST DEAL!!!

I'm working on closing it right now. It's a subject to deal that I found at my W2. I offered to help her rent it, but she just wants to be done. It's surprising to me that this type of situation actually exists, but it does! She is even ECSTATIC to be done with it!

I was planning on being a wholesaler, but I don't think you're supposed to wholesale subject to's, plus I don't know anyone who wants a house with little to no equity. The crazy thing was how difficult it was to find information on how to do a "Sub2". Once it's done I'll be doing a post on the actual process and another post on the deal itself including numbers.

I guess it's true, if you throw enough "stuff" at the wall, something is bound to stick. For now I'm going to keep throwing and see if there's anything else I can get my hands on to throw. It's insane how many different ways there are to make money in real estate.
