the new investor

I wanted to write this blog for a couple of reasons, first to get some things off my chest and second to let the BP community know what my journey has been like. Now I know my journey is not unique but its specific for me, much like each one of us in BP has their own journey.

I have always had a thing about real estate (RE), my education started back with Carlton Sheets. I got his material, said I was going to invest and be wealthy. I went through his material read it, reread and read some more and nothing happen. Then some years later it was another Real estate guy (I cant remember his name) who had a coarse that said the same thing. If you read and study my coarse you too will become an investor and wealthy beyond your dreams. So I read, reread and read some more but nothing happen. Went to different events that came to town with different Gurus but they wanted money that I didn't have.  Yeah I learned some things but I still wasn't that investor that I often dreamed about and saw myself to be. So many years pass, I continue working a JOB that gets on my nerves sometimes, but still every now and then that RE bug veers its head. I start to question myself and wonder if something is wrong with me and convince myself that its not. I just don't know enough about real estate to be an investor. So what do I do, I go to school to be a broker, I tell my self if I learn everything in school about real estate, for sure I can be an investor and be wealthy beyond my dreams. Guess what BP family, RE school taught me nothing about being an investor. I think they might have touched on it for a split second and that was it. So here I was in this class that was expensive and time consuming teaching how to be a broker and I wanted to be an investor. What was I to do???

Fast forward to present day, I still haven't become the investor I dream to be. I feel closer than I did but a long way from where I want to be. I want to thank the powers that be for a platform like bigger pockets, and juststartrealestate for reigniting that RE fire within. Following BP I learned that all the knowledge in the world means nothing without the action to follow the knowledge. that's been the missing ingredient with these courses  and my growth.
