How to videos on Bigger pockets?

Question

I have been listening to the podcast and learning things I didn't know since I started BP. I was thinking how can I help out as well. So I started what thinking about what advatages I have on my property's that I buy. I think that the thing that helps me the most is I do all of my on repairs. I thought it would be a good idea to do how to videos on BP. So here is my question to all of you BPers. What type of how to videos would you be interested in seeing on the site? I am thinking things like installing flooring, putting up cabinets, running new water lines, even roof repair. Lets get a list of things you would like to see.

Those are great topics @Brandon Turner .   First one that popped into my head was how to change a lock.   We now prefer to use Kwikset's newer system of re-keying a lock seen here:

Save's us landlords tons of coin now in changing over locks when a new tenant moves in.  Do you use it?

I'm sure I come up with a few more.

Yeah- I guess. I was just thinking about the cost and my low income tenants stealing or breaking it, but I guess that doesn't really make that much sense!

Hi @Brandon Turner .  I would think you'd want to do this more so on your lower priced rentals because it'll cost you less overall to change the keys.  Yes?  Only a couple dollars to change the keys in between tenants.

@Darren Sager - I tried using it, but my first time the lock broke after just one change. I don't remember exactly what happened, but something didn't work right so I stopped. But I may try it out again on some of my higher end homes.

Hey @Darren Sager and @David Lee  - I do love the idea. I think it would be cool to host on YouTube (I can put it under the BP account) and then we'll either make a special page here on BP, or we'll make separate forum threads for each video since we can embed YouTube videos here. I can add our BP "video bumper" before and after each video, and we could have some great conversation to go along with the video. Or we could do it on the Blog as well, which would be fine. Either way, I love it.

And as for topics - a few off the top of my head:

1.) How to lay laminate wood flooring/tile/vinyl/carpet

2.) how to clean pet stains out of carpet

3.) How to repair a hole in a wall (or door)

4.) How to replace a Stove Element or Burner or Switch

5.) How to change a Hot Water Heater (or element)

6.) How to Install Pex Plumbing

7.) How to Fix a Leaky Shower Valve

Those are a few of the more common issues I think we landlords run into. Thoughts?

You're thoughts are very noble @David Lee and I think it would be great to do something like that.  I'm not sure the bandwidth that BP has and if we could actually do something like that.  Instead why not just start a forum where we can  link to the best examples of "how to" that already exist on YouTube or other sites?

BP does have its own channel on YouTube.  If you did do some videos perhaps you could upload them there?  @Brandon Turner what's your thoughts on this?  Perhaps start a dedicated BP "How to" channel on YouTube?
