Hello! First Blog Post!

Hello Everyone,

I'm very excited to be apart of the BiggerPocket blogging community. I have connected with a lot of great people through this site and I look forward to meeting many more. I decided to start this blog because I see there is a need for more indepth insight regarding direct mail and how how it pertains to marketing your real estate business. Many real estate businesses rely on direct mail as their primary marketing method to attract buyers, sellers, tenants, and other investors. Through this blog, I look forward to sharing thoughts, case studies, technology, success stories, and really anything else that I find exciting regarding direct mail and real estate.  Feedback is much appriciated and I look forward to hearing about everyones experieces with direct mail.

Cheers,

Justin Carter

  1. go virtual - it's much less expensive

  2. Charles - Direct mail does work great for wholesalers as well as any other type of investment your looking for. Dan - I started with flipping foreclosures, then moved onto more creative real estate (lease option, subject-to, etc.). I also send out a lot of direct mail so I have learned my lessons about marketing. How about you? What part of real estate do you enjoy?

  3. Justin, I look forward to your future blogs. What aspect of the Real Estate business is your expertise in?

  4. I understand that direct mailers work well for wholesalers. You will probably get a number of ideas about what works best.

  5. I completely agree 100%.

  6. It does work good. Now if the post office would just stop raising postage rates, right?

  7. Kevin, That is a very cool idea. I have had great luck mailing to non-owner occupied property owners. I can't stop sending mail, it works to good. Thanks for the comment.

  8. Justin, We dont use direct mail anymore but I can tell you we used to have great success direct mail marketing to non-owner occupants that purchased a property in the neighborhood we had a property for sale. We could find out if they wanted to add to their portfolio or sell something in their portfolio. The kicker was we would draw pictures on the back of the envelope to intrigue people to open the envelopes. Pretty cool!
