Some helpful articles for beneficiaries that have inherite a house

Death of a loved one is never fun.  It's a big loss and quite frankly it's depressing.  If this has recently happened to you or someone you know, you know what I'm talking about.

And, if you happened to inherit a home, you have a whole extra burden on your hands.  And, the challenge with this is that you often don't have your head on straight (and for good reason).  There's a lot of emotion and a lot of responsibility.

If you find yourself in this situation, and you want to sell the inherited house, you should know that as a general rule, selling the house faster is better for you financially (as well as emotionally).  So, we've written many articles on the subject to help people out in this situation.

First, we created a guide to selling an inherited home to settle an estate.  It's a comprehensive guide (over 6,000 words) to help you from the beginning to the end of the process. And, it's jam packed with links to other helpful resources.

You may also find this article about the risks of managing a vacant home.  After reading this, you'll understand why selling the house sooner rather than later will help you avoid a whole lot of other headaches.

And, then, these articles have some specific "how to's" on some of the stages for preparing the house for the market:

So I hope these articles come in handy for you or clients (or friends).  Hopefully, it will make the process a bit easier.
