My fall and holiday articles

For the first time, this year, I've been writing several seasonal articles.  I'm hoping to diversity my traffic (as it always dips during the holidays) and include some fun articles for my audience that will be useful for years to come.

Once i have the articles written, I can promote them each year.  And, each year, I may add in a few more.  This will really help me on social media, especially pinterest, so I will have more trending articles, as well as more diversity of topics I share.

So, I started out by writing a local article - Apple Picking Orchards in Westchester County.  This article not only shares the local orchards, but also includes a recipe for homemade apple sauce.  Then, I wrote a fun article for Halloween - Halloween costumes for pets.  I love dogs and cats, so I thought it was a fun way to write a holiday post that's a bit different from the typical Halloween article.  It was also fun to create a pin for this article on pinterest.

Then, I came up with a good idea for Christmas and how to tie it in with hardwood flooring.  The article is how to have a Christmas tree without ruining your hardwood floors.  This then made me realize a that I could do a parallel article for Thanksgiving.  That one is how to protect your hardwood flooring during the Thanksgiving holiday.  I'm hoping these articles will do well, but of course it's too soon to tell.  I'm actually hoping they do well this year, and then even better next year.  We'll see.
