Developing Focus for Maximum Results
People are never going to be successful by being involved in many unrelated business activities at once. Why? Because they lack focus.
People often say that their involvement in so many activities is keeping them busy. But be careful not to confuse being busy and being productive. Many think that staying busy all the time will make them become successful. Running around doing different things makes people think that they are getting somewhere. But they're not!
I've seen so many people forever starting new jobs. These people just don't know what they want, and they rarely finish anything. People need to find something they like or want to do and stick with it. When someone can stick with what they are doing, they will become more knowledgeable and focused. Let's look at some very successful individuals. Ross Perot has accomplished remarkable things, and everyone should listen to him. Colonel Sanders got turned down 1009 times for his recipe.
Jewel, the singer, once lived in a car, but still continued her singing career. As you can see, if any one of these people had given up, they would never be where they are today. I'm sure you can think of some more examples of successful people that have struggled and today are famous.
Developing focus will not be easy. It will take a lot of practice. We must train our minds to focus on one goal. In reality, being productive is directly related to our ability to focus. When we read, we should only focus on what we are reading. Many times, our minds drift off somewhere else. This is because we are not focused and because our mind operates faster than we can read. It will take some time to learn not to drift but keep at it and don't give up.
We need to continue to work on becoming intensely focused on what it is that we are doing without consciously trying.
