Are You Getting the Right Apartment Valuation?

Have you tried getting an apartment valuation? Are you satisfied with the result?

Most of the time apartment owners in Auckland will conduct registered valuations. This will require them to hire a valuer who will do the valuation for them, and that would normally cost around $500. Now, these valuers will give you the market price of your apartment, but have you ever wondered the accuracy of these valuations?

The problem that I see with a typical valuer is that they always look backwards especially when the property involve is an apartment. A good example are valuers from banks, since they often rely on sales statistics and that data could be two months old. So, you will not get the most accurate valuation that you are expecting.

There are ways to ensure that you are getting the right valuation. For this purpose, you need to ask several questions to the valuer. I have a podcast on my website that tackles this topic. If you’re planning to sell your apartment, then this topic is for you.
