3 Tips for Hosting A Successful Meet Up

  • Have the mindset to serve

The purpose of your meet up should be to connect your community of investors with others who can facilitate their needs. Never miss out on this big opportunity to be a resource. Many times I am not the source for fulfillment to their need but I can always be a resource. Set a premise of serving others because we attract what we are not what we pretend to be. If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want; so be a resource, not a sales pitch.

  • Connect with people ahead of time

There are many different platforms in which to host your event. Be sure that you reach out to all new members as they are joining to get to know them a little before the event. I will even go as far as to call new members to introduce myself and see how I can assist with their investing goals. In a world where most people don’t take the time, this will make you stand out and leave a lasting impression; even ensuring guests will show up.

  • Create a warm and inviting atmosphere

This seems simple and obvious; however you’d be surprised that many events are not welcoming. If you are the host make sure that you have the chance to speak with each person; and that you are approachable. Most times there individuals in the group who have yet to do their first deal and they may be a little intimidated and not know where to start. This would be a great opportunity to show warm and include them in on a conversation between yourself and a more experienced investor.
